Damascus native, with roots stretching back through the Assali family’s lineage of artists and artisans. This passion for art and premium quality keepsakes persists today, with the launch of Atelier Assali.
Ever since Hisham Assali set up his atelier, excellence in craftsmanship has been at the very heart of Atelier Assali. Just as craftsmen were 100 years ago, Hisham personally design, craft and oversees all parts of the leather making.
The result is an item that withstand the test of time and forge a lasting connection with the surrounding world.
Atelier Assali is home to exclusive, minimal and sustainable designer leather goods for the seeker of craftsmanship and exquisite form.
Materials
Leather
Leather is a living material, changes, softens, and gains a patina with time. As an expression of its excellent quality and ability to age well, Atelier Assali uses only full grain leather, worked in such a way as to ensure that the grain natural features remain visible.
Hardware
The metal pieces – clasps, locks, studs, buckles – in the world of leather goods known as ‘hardware’ are for the most part exclusive to Atelier Assali. Our hardware are usually made of stainless steel, polished by hand, and plated with fine materials.
Packaging
The packaging is made of Eska®board, a three-layer laminated solid board, made of 100% recycled paper.
